Dr. Todd Taylor


Dr. Todd Smith Taylor has taken over ownership of the Animal Clinic of Platte County as of 06-May-2017.
Dr. Taylor is a 2007 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri. He received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biology from William Jewell College in 2002. He also studied at Cambridge University, Homerton College, Cambridge England in 2000-2001 as part of the Honors Study Abroad Program.
Dr. Taylor has had a unique veterinary career that led him to the Animal Clinic of Platte County. He worked for two different veterinary clinics in the Greater Kansas City area after graduating veterinary school. He has also worked for Boehringer Ingelheim as a Technical Services Veterinarian where he consulted with veterinarians around the country on BI’s products. He also presented continuing education lectures to veterinarians around the country on topics ranging from proper vaccine protocols, managing canine congestive heart failure, and the proper management of osteoarthritis in both canine and feline patients. After working with Dr. Bleish over the past year, Dr. Taylor has taken over sole ownership of the hospital as of 06-May-2017.

Dr. Taylor is joining a wonderful team of professionals at the Animal Clinic of Platte County. He wants to continue to provide high quality veterinary medicine to his clients, focus on the customer service that is supplied to the animal owners, and make each and every patient visit as stress free as possible using Fear Free techniques.

Steve Bleish, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Came to Platte County in 1981. Married with 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren. Loves bird-dogs, fishing and the Royals.

Dr. Charles Sackett

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Sackett was owner of Claycomo Animal Hospital for 36 years. He practiced at Animal Clinic of Boardwalk Square from 2001-2013. He performs a variety of surgeries, including ear crop procedures, ear crop corrective surgeries, facial fold, and eye lid entropion.

Bobbi Ray

Veterinary Health Technician

Bobbi has been with the practice since August of 1998. She started as kennel attendant/assistant. She graduated with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science of Veterinary Technology and is a registered Veterinary Technician. She loves going to continuing education events to learn new ways to help your pets. She was the first technician in Parkville to become fear free certified. Bobbi loves spending time with her husband Jeff and her two children Jillian and Logan. She has two dogs Brutus and Goldie and two African side necked turtles Finn and Spike.

Amanda Underwood


Amanda started with the practice in July 2008. Her love of animals and customer service brought her into this field. The bond between clients and staff is very important to her, as well as providing the best care possible for their pets. She has 3 cats of her own, McLovin, Bon Jovi, and Caesar. Caesar was found on the clinic’s doorstep with his littermates, only days old. He has been happily spoiled rotten in his forever home for seven years now.

Sherry Sigmon


Sherrie started with the practice in 2011. She is a highly esteemed member of our animal care team. She passionately cares for our clients and our patients. She consistently pursues new avenues to educate herself so that she can provide the best customer care possible. Rest assured your pet’s welfare is her top priority.

Jen Leach

Veterinary Assistant

Jen has been with the practice for 10 years and is an avid animal lover. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Park University and loves basketball! Jen has a senior Chihuahua named Sanchez and two kitties, Cleopatra and Pandora. Working with animals is her passion!


Lisa is a lifelong K.C. resident. She has worked in the animal field for over 20 years. After she was deployed to Somalia, where she saw some exotic animals, she came home to work as a barn manager at Hidden Valley Farms. She joined our team in 2015. She has two dogs named Monica and Bentley, 
and Kitty Mau, her Manx cat.


Veterinary Assistant

Marcy has been with the practice since January 2017. She has over five years experience as a veterinary assistant, and is going to school so that she can become a registered veterinary technician. She has two young daughters, Sydney and Adelaide. She also has two cats, Charlie and Snickers. Her daughters love to help her foster newborn kittens. Grumpy cats are her favorite to work with. She is affectionately known as “Marcy Darcy” to her coworkers.
